Natural zinc is used 0n these flats built on the seafront at Whitstable in Kent, . The earlier photos here show the zinc in its early bright appearance but the later ones show the effect of weathering where the zinc has developed the protective patina that ensures its longevity.

The panels were set at 430mm centres, narrower than usual, to allow for the wind in this exposed seaside location.
